LOHP
has produced a "human factors awareness" training
program for refinery workers, which is now available through
our catalog. The curriculum looks at the interface between
humans and the workplace, including design of controls,
engineering principles, usability of equipment, ergonomics,
operating procedures, training, and staffing. The implications
of this interface for worker health and safety are emphasized.
|
Training
workshops based on the curriculum have been offered to labor
and management at refineries in the Bay Area.

here for a complete description and ordering information.
The
material in this curriculum is applicable to a wide range of
industries. LOHP staff can present "training
of trainer" classes
on human factors for unions, employers, labor-management groups,
and others. For more information, contact Pam Tau Lee: ptlee@berkeley.edu.
