Who
Needs This Training?
Federal
OSHA regulation 29 CFR 1910.120 and Cal/OSHA GISO 5192 stipulate
that workers involved in hazardous waste treatment, storage,
or disposal (TSD) must attend a 24-hour TSD training course when
they begin work, and an 8-hour Hazardous Materials, Waste Operations,
and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) refresher course each year
thereafter. It is the responsibility of the employer to ensure
that employees attend these courses. LOHP courses
meet the requirements of OSHA's 29
CFR 1910.120(e)(8) and the equivalent California standard, Title
8 CCR 5192(e)(8).
